Demand response software start-up Limejump has won the management contract for the 6MW Network Storage Facility developed by UK Power Networks in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, England. Dubbed ‘Britain’s biggest battery, its storage capacity amounts to 6MW and 10MWh, and it was built to support the local network during winter peak periods of electricity demand.
Limejump will utilize the battery’s energy outside the winter period in order to balance the grid through demand response services.
