Sadiq Khan, London’s mayor, has promised to spend 770 million Pound on cycling initiatives. He aims at making riding a bike a safe and obvious transport choice. The 770 million Pounds split up per person are around 17 Pound per year. That is similiar to the levels in cycle-friendly nations like the Netherlands and Denmark. The initiative includes plans for two new cycle superhighways which are routes on which riders are separated from other traffic and they have their own traffic lights.
