Ride-hailing company Lyft is partnering with autonomous startup, NuTonomy to deploy the autonomous cars in the Boston area for Lyft’s ride-hailing services. The aim of the partnership is to research and analyze the human interactions with the self-driving cars. Since NuTonomy does not make cars itself rather it is developing the software for the use in autonomous vehicles, Renault Zoe electric will be the first vehicle to be integrated with NuTonomy’s platform and Lyft’s network. Lyft CEO, Logan Green said,” The first stage of the partnership is focused on research and development on passenger experience. The next stages could lead to thousands of NuTonomy cars on the Lyft platform.” Lyft has also partnered with Waymo to offer autonomous ride-hailing services in Arizona.
