Major cities committed to ban diesel cars by 2025

The mayors of Paris, Mexico City, Madrid and Athens stated they will stop the use of diesel-powered cars and trucks by 2025 mainly in order to improve air quality in those cities. Incentives for alternative vehicle use will be given as well as the promotion of walking and cycling. The statements were made at a biennial meeting of city leaders in Mexico.
