Mercedes-Benz is launching its 2017 smart fortwo electric drive coupe starting at $23,800 in the US later this summer. The electric cabrio will start at $28,000, excluding incentives. The coupe will feature an improved range, more power, more space and additional standard features with the same 17.6 kWh battery package. Other significant improvement in features such as a new powerful air-cooled three-phase synchronous electric motor, a higher top speed and faster AC charging time etc. Equipped with a 7kW on-board, the charging time is expected to be around 2.5 hours (0-80% charge on 240V wallbox).
