The Solve competition, a contest organized by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), wants to promote cost-efficient food production closer to urban populations, extend water distribution infrastructure to the poorest areas, and improve urban supply chains and market access for nutritious food.

To that end, fifteen finalists where announced recently. All of them have innovative ideas to help communities bolster their resilience by providing safe food and water without harming the environment.
