According to an International Energy Agency report renewables accounted for more of the increase in global power capacity generating than coal last year. Throughout the year half a million solar panels were installed every day around the world. Declining costs as well as government policies that provide financial incentives for using renewable power sources are reasons that led to the increase. China, India, Mexico and the USA have been supportive forces behind the growth of the renewable energy sector.
