The Dutch designer Daan Roosegaarde had the idea of taking a small step towars tackling Beijing’s smog issues – through the design of a bike. In his Smog Free Project he introduced his bicycle which sucks in polluted air and uses positive ionisation to remove particulate matter from the surrounding. Roosegaarde’s bikes are still dreams of the future, but he hopes his idea will be implemented by the mounting bike-sharing facilities across China.
