The PSA Group – which is the carmaker behind Peugeot, Citroen and DS Automobiles – has launched a new all-electric carsharing service in Madrid. The service is supposed to be expanded throughout Europe in the near future. “Emov” (the name of the service) was launched as part of a joint venture with carsharing technology specialists Vulog and the city management company “Eysa”. The fleet has a size of 500 Citroën C-Zero electric cars. The service costs 0,19 Euro per minute, a one-off 9 Euro registration fee is charged but there is not a monthly membership fee or contract. Parking will also be for free. Car-sharing services such as this one are to help reduce congestion and pollution.
