New Tier 2 renewable diesel (RD) pathways using soy oil, used cooking oil, tallow and corn oil have been released by the California Air Resources Board (ARB) Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) staff at the Diamond Green facility in Louisiana. The Diamond Green Diesel (DGD), a joint venture of Diamond Alternative Energy LLC and Darling Ingredients uses animal fat, used cooking oil etc. to produce green diesel along with LPG and other vapor streams which are then used by the nearby industries, thereby reducing their traditional electricity consumption.
