New York is the most wasteful city

Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences released a study that says New York is the most wasteful city. That means it uses most of energy and water and produces most of trash. A lot of, especially American, cities that are worse than New York were not included in this study. Among global megacities Mexico City is the second most wasteful city, the third one is Tokyo. Wastefulness is related to wealth because waste is caused due to consumption, the wealther a place the more waste is produced.
