NTU-Schaeffler set up smart mobility solutions lab

With an aim to develop smart mobility devices, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) and Schaeffler Group have joined hands to develop a reasearch lab with a three year funding of S$5 million and is focussed to tackle the challenges of tranportation in Singapore under the nation’s Smart Nation vision. The lab will be set up at NTU’s School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering as a part of f the Schaeffler Hub for Advanced REsearch at NTU (SHARE at NTU).  Professor LAM Khin Yong, NTU (VP Research) says, “NTU has deep expertise in smart mobility technologies and a strong track record of industry collaborations. Together with Schaeffler, we aim to develop innovative personal transport solutions that will be safer and more efficient, which will support Singapore’s drive towards a car-lite society.” The research project aimed to study urban mobility and transportation systems for mega cities alongwith studying the human user behaviour on personal mobility devices in Singapore and other smart utilities to enhance the usafety and experience of experience of users.
