The French oil company Total S.A plans to install solar panels. Its subsidiary “SunPower” should equip 5,000 of its global service stations with solar panels, equating to around 200MW on solar capacity. Within the next five years and at a cost of around 300 million USD the projects are to be completed. The projects can power a city of 200,000 people. These projects are part of Total’s strategy to become the responsible energy major.
