As cities are often places of urban heat islands, their inhabitants suffer most of heat stress and sun. Image Source: Shutterstock (#236135404) shows the skyline of Philadelphia and Schuylkill River, PA, USA.
A new initiative in Philadelphia has been launched that will build more and more sunscreen dispensers around the city, free to use by anyone. Installation has already started throughout Citizens Bank Park and several other locations around Philadelphia. Right now, these are mainly locations convenient for people doing or watching sports, but officials say there are more to come.
The initiative is an effort to make Philadelphia part of the Sun Safe America initiative. The city also hosted the Melanoma Awareness Day last Sunday.
