The Department of Energy in the Philippines approved four solar power projects with a combined capacity of 192 megawatts to evaluate the impact of the integration of renewable energy technologies into an existing transmission network. This will help develop a roadmap for large-scale integration, which has proven to be a challenge in various developing countries.
Additionally, the Philippines have approved another 150-megawatt solar power project in a second round in March.
