Public-private restrooms for German cities

Many cities lack a good amount of public restrooms that are at the same time clean and well maintained. The “Nette Toilette” (nice toilet) system allows people who are not customers of a business, to still use its facility. It is funded by a fee which the city pays to the participating businesses. Indicated by a sign of “Nette Toilette”, pedestrians can easily find a toilet in one of the 210 cities that joined so far.
