Resilience got on the humanitarian agenda

This year could be a turning point for the humanitarian aid sector which hardly changed for the last 75 years. With the first World Humanitarian Summit in May, rising numbers of natural catastrophes and forced migration figures being the highest since World War II, the sector faces great challenges. Calls for a better preparation for disasters are emerging, that argue that the damage could be reduced or even eliminated when putting resilience in the core of humanitarian work.
