How will robots change the construction industry? Image source: Shutterstock (#424808146)
Construction Robotics from New York built a robot called SAM100 (Semi-Automated Mason) that lays 3,000 bricks per day. Compare that to the average 500 of a human mason, and the benefit of utilizing the machine consisting of a conveyor belt, a robotic arm and a concrete pump becomes clear. At the moment, SAM is already operational around the US, but still requires humans to work alongside him. They do not have to do the heavy lifting anymore, though.
