Samsung discloses recycling plan for recalled Galaxy Note 7s

Samsung has unveiled their approach to deal with the Galaxy Note 7 smartphones they had to recall due to battery faults last year. Showing commitment to sustainable production, the company intends to join the European Union’s R&D and testing efforts. The defective phones will be used as refurbished phones or rental phones, salvaged for reusable parts if that is not possible, or detached to extract valuable metals in an environmentally friendly as a third option. The announcement comes just in time to clean the slate before the Galaxy S8 hits the market.
