Business software giant SAP has layed out its sustainability plans for the not-so-distant future. As tit is on track with its current targets, the company now aims higher, wanting to make all operations carbon neutral by 2025. This would be the logical next step for SAP’s long-term greenhouse gas (GHG) avoidance strategy, officials say.
SAP will continue purchasing 100 percent renewable power certificates for its facilities and datacenters, and support climate protection projects like the Livelihoods Fund. To make sure investment goes towards the right goal, SAP has set up a Gold Standard that will be applied to combat greenwashing when choosing new projects.
