Over the past decade Scotland has set a series of increasingly ambitious renewable-energy targets and has surpassed every one. Politically the climate issue has never been denied and measures that lead to a clean and sustainable energy supply on the basis of renewable energy have been implemented very quickly. More than half the country’s electricity now comes from zero-carbon sources such as wind, hydro and solar. The Scottish weather especially makes wind energy very profitable.
