The materials science company, Arconic, has designed a 4,8 km high skyscraper built from materials in-development or already brought to the market which includes smog-eating surfaces and retractable balconies. One of the projects related to the skyscraper is “EcoClean” which is a special coating that supports the building cleaning itself and purify the surrounding air. It works with light and water vapour. Another feature of the skyscrapers are motorised windows that convert into a glass balcony in under a minute.
