A team at the National University of Singapore has found a way to let you share taste experiences digitally. First, the color and pH value of a drink are captured, then encoded based on a wireless communication protocol, and finally, color and taste are simulated with LED light and electrical pulses on the tongue.
The technology might present possibilities for digital customization of beverage flavors or cutting down of calorie intake through perceived sweetness. The next step will be adding scent and fizziness.
