Exercising for the environment: will smart clothing be the future of energy generation? Image source: Shutterstock (#437529991)
Scientists have developed smart clothes. They developed a fabric that manages its own energy needs by harvesting electrical energy from movement and the sun. When wearing it you just have to run in the sun. The T-shirt harvests the energy from solar radiation, while at the same time scavenging the mechanical energy from its own movement so it can store that electric power in its own battery fabric. In short: Mechanical energy of movement is converted to power. Interwoven fibres serve as solar cells. However, such clothes are not ready for the market yet.
