Startup Hyper Chariot Network is developing a tube transport system similar to the Hyperloop, but with far lower building and operating costs. The so-called Velocitator demonstrates speed on a 400 mph proof-of-concept track, and the company’s special tube technology reaches speeds of 4,000 mph. Due to patented passive maglev interchanges, the Hyper Chariot vehicle is ultra-light at 400 lbs and bring passengers anywhere within its network with 5 ft vacuumed ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) tubes.

Compared to the Hyperloop, numbers suggest the Hyper Chariot has the lead in terms of efficient mobility. It is also cheaper by about $25 million per mile with the Hyperloop One’s price at $64 million per mile.

The company also claims to be the first to commercialize evacuated-tube transport technologies (ET3).
