In a new study geographers from Dartmouth College and the University of Sheffield visualized the economic activity of commuting in US megacities and their surrounding areas. The study is based on statisticical analysis and reveils how interconntected these areas are and how infrastructure, economy, resources and people are linked. The information is vital for the development of future strategies as these megaregions are not always follwing political boundaries. The study can inform decision makers on the needs for cooperation, demand of infrastructure, among others.
