In 2011 TAIPEI 101 became the first building of its size to receive the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum certification in the category “Existing Buildings”. The tower has a height of 508 metres and 101 floors plus five grounds in the floor. Siemens Building Technologies has made essential contributions to the building’s success. Siemens worked together with the operators over two years to optimize the automation and energy efficiency. 10 percent were saved in electricity usage, water consumption and garbage production as well as indoor air quality. In 2016 Siemens and TAIPEI 101 decided to start an integrated cloud-based platform “Navigator” that provides higher quality energy management services. The platform turns all the data generated by the building into valuable information for e.g. enhancing the energy efficiency.
