The one year old company “EcoAct Tanzania” turns waste into lumber in order to meet the growing demand for housing in Tanzania’s growing cities and to reduce the deforestation. The company mainly turns plastic bottles into an substitute for wood. So far the company has turned nearly 1 million kilogrammes of waste into the plastic lumber that can be used for e.g. fences, house beams and signposts.
