Although the software that Tesla develops for its self-driving cars still needs to be validated and authorized by regulaters, the company announced to put its first fully autonomous car on the roads by 2018. Tesla Motors Inc. already started to equip all new vehicles with the hardware required. If the company manages to fulfill this plan, it will be a significant step ahead of other automakers.
