Tesla gigafactory is expected to employ 1000 workers in 2017

The battery production at the plant is expected to ramp up in 2017. In order to reach 35 GWh of battery production capacity in 2018 new hires will follow. At the moment the Gigafactory employs over 800 workers and 1000 will be added during the first half of 2017. Over 6000 jobs will be created at Gigafactory in 2020 which is part of the company’s plan. Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, has announced an acceleration of the company’s plan because the demand for the Model 3 is higher than expected. The factory could produce up to 150 GWh of battery capacity and employ around 10,000 people in the end.
