China is currently establishing seven big data zones. One of them is located in Inner Mongolia, around the regional capital of Hohhot. The focus of the data industry of the zone will be on energy, meteorology and geology in order to improve energy efficiency and conservation. Policies are issued to encourage universities, industry, and businesses to come to the zone.
