According to the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) said that the next generation of Bluetooth will provide twice the speed, four times the range and eight times the capacity for broadcast messages. These improvements are especially interesting for smart home and IoT applications. Devices equipped with the new wireless technology are expected to be sold within the next half year.
