A paper was published in Procedia Engineering describing the evolution of the “smart city” term. Highlighting the quest of cities to become smarter as a challenge for administrators, architects and urban planners, the paper written by Mircea Eremia, Lucian Toma and Mihai Sanduleac deals with representative characteristics of smart cities, and draws a connection between smart city and smart grid.
