A group of scientists have discovered what is called as a ‘Time Crystal’, a concept which was proposed by Nobel laureate Frank Wilczek in 2012, where he proposed that if certain properties change in time, rather than in space, then new phases of matter could be generated. “The experiments are beautiful and open up a new class of states of matter that really qualitatively are new and fascinating in their own right,” Wilczek said. It is also believed that this new discovery could pave way for the quantum computers and quantum sensors deveopment, and companies like Microsoft, Google and IBM have already been showing interest in this field.
