The carmaker announced to be investing in artificial intelligence in the production of electric cars and fuel cells to be able to cut costs for electric-vehicle batteries.
The research of the TRI (Toyota Research Institute) will focus on rechargeable batteries, fuel cell catalysts and functional polymers in the next four years – this will involve an investment of $ 35 million. The TRI is working together with a multitude of research partners to achieve its goal of a 90 percent reduction in global average carbon dioxide emissions from new vehicles by 2050.
