From November 26-28 the first UN Global Sustainable Transport Conference took place in Ashgabat in Turkmenistan. Representatives from the UN, governments, the private sector and civil society attended the event. The conference was about the common goal of finding solutions and setting new directions for global transport efforts. The global transport systems have to be transformed in a sustainable way that will improve human wellbeing, enhance social progress and protect the planet.
