Urban development through public-private partnerships

Modernizing street lighting is not only beneficial for the environment as it reduces energy consumption, but also for social matters, such as safety, less accidents and more social activities after sunset. While being aware of these advantages, many cities are struggeling to realize such projects due to a lack of investment. Many cities are therefore working on establishing private-public partnerships (PPPs). The Public-Private Partnership in Infrastructure Resource Center (PPPIRC) is a website that provides information and best practices on how to plan and design such projects, as well as on how to handle the legal arrangement.
