The ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach are the busiest in the US. The shipping weighs heavy on the environment in the area. The San Pedro Bay Clean Air Action Plan (CAAP) has therefore been established which lowered pollution significantly. The governing boards are meeting next week in order to extend the policy and to reduce the envrionmental impact further.
