While it is still unclear where Donald Trump, the US president-elect, is heading when it comes to climate change policy, Michael R. Bloomberg, former mayor of New York City, made his standpoint clear. He announced that in case Donald Trump and the US federal government revoke commitment to climate change, he will address mayors of US cities to continue the fight against climate change and to commit to the Paris Agreement. He is not the first to announce that cities might not follow future federal policy directives. The mayors of New York, Seattle, Philadelphia, Chicago and Washington signalized to accept immigrants despite of Donald Trump’s announcements during the campaign.
