According to the latest forecast published by MAKE Consulting the United States is predicted to install approximately 59 gigawatts of new wind capacity between 2017 and 2026, driven by a precarious boom and bust cycle. The next four years are considered as the significant “boom period” owing to the full-value Production Tax Credit drives. According to MAKE, Due to competition amid sustained low natural gas prices and the rapidly falling cost of solar power, wind installations in this environment will be limited to a fraction of US states with favorable land availability, wind resources, and available transmission capacity. As per the forecast, owing to the plummeting demand for wind energy in Canada and with he industry still in its infancy in Mexico, US seems to be the only leader in North America.
