Volvo Cars announced China as the place of manufacturing for its first fully electric car and will be based on Volvo’s CMA (Compact Modular Architecture). China being one of the most lucrative market for electric cars, Volvo has committed to sell a total of 1 million electrified cars by the year 2025. Volvo’s Scalable Production Architecture (SPA) is being used to develop the fully electric car. At present, Volvo has three manufacturing facilities in China, which will produce the company’s 90, 60 and 40 series cars.
