Supermarket giant Walmart struck up a partnership with clean tech start-up Advanced Microgrid Solutions (AMS) to use their Hybrid Electric Building technology at 27 of their facilities in California for “no upfront cost”. AMS will install and operate the system, helping Walmart to reduce greenhouse missions by 18 percent until 2025 at the latest.
AMS is working towards the improvement of energy efficiency and flexible grid support, and is already in talks with Macquarie Group to realize their next energy storage project.
