12 urban leaders from across the world have joined in an agreement to buy only zero-emissions buses from 2025 onward as well as make big parts of their metros fossil fuel-free. Through promotion of walking, cycling and public transportation, and through limiting the use of private vehicles, the cities, which are all part of the C40 Cities network, are planning for an emission-free future.

The participating cities are Los Angeles, Mexico City, London, Cape Town, Paris, Copenhagen, Barcelona, Quito, Vancouver, Milan, Seattle and Auckland.
