A very ambitious plan to solve the energy problems of Northern Europe has been conceived. In the center of the North Sea a set of islands would be built to operate what might become the world’s largest wind turbine array. Driven by the need to meet the emission goals committed to in the Paris Climate Agreement, the project initiated by companies TenneT and Energinet would eclipse the currently major offshore windfarms with a generating capacity of up to 100,000 megawatts.
