Around $450 million have been offered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to various project developers, a total of 16 planning to set up utility-scale solar power projects in Egypt. The projects will have a capacity of 750 MW. The major developers include ACWA Power, Scatec Solar, and EDF with allotted capacity of 120MW, 50MW, 50MW respectively. More than three dozen project developers have partnered with the Egyptian government to set up 1.8 gigawatts of solar power projects in the Ben Ban region. The total investment in the park is expected to be around $3 billion.
