As a large majority of people still feels uncomfortable letting go of the control of a car, getting people to travel in self-driving vehicles still poses a challenge. Now, a study conducted by Intel set out to test whether first-hand experience of driving with such a car would change people’s minds.
The results imply that direct experience of automated cars is a fantastic way to encourage people to accept new technology as 100 percent of test subject had fewer concerns than before.
The study also concluded that there has to be an alternative for people who have difficulty getting in and out of a vehicle, and that most people would prefer for the steering wheel not to be visible as they felt less safe seeing it move on its own.
