A case for waste-to-energy technology

Plastic waste and energy insecurity are two of the biggest environmental challenges the world is facing right now. One solution that tackles both of these is waste-to-energy technology. Waste-to-energy systems transform plastics into fuel for all kinds of energy needs.

Although full material circularity is a noble long-term objective, it will take many years still to get there. During the time the world has to bridge, waste-to-energy plants are sophisticated and clean enough to outweigh the negatives of the current “steady-state” of slow increases in recycling capacities.
