Architect Owen Wee addressed overcrowding, food security and issues of community cohesion in one project. The Food Tower incorporates vertical farming with a capacity 400 times that of traditional farming and is a closed loop energy system. Not only vegetables, but also fish are farmed to feed about 11,000 people per year. Inlcuding government agencies and the public into these projects is vital for success.
