Computer vision scientist Philip Torr and neuroscientist Stephen Hicksfrom the University of Oxford in England have developed smart AR glasses to help visually impaired and legally blind people to see again with the help of augmented reality technology.

Their glasses recognize visual weaknesses in a person’s eyesight through a combination of smart computer vision algorithms and cameras, and then enhance those particular details. Users can then navigate more independently, avoid collisions in everyday life and improve sight in dark or low-light conditions.
