Blockchains can transform energy as it is known today. It is not only for finance anymore. There are two potentials how this could happen. The first one is that off grid communities produce and share resilient, cost-effective solar energy without an electricity supplier and generate SolarCoins as an added income. Second, communities in major cities choose the price or type of electricity moment by moment. They share electricity between “prosumers” which reduces grid congestion and achieves low carbon targets.
